Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)

Age-related macular degeneration, or AMD, is an eye disease that is a leading cause of vision loss in older Americans. Although AMD rarely causes complete blindness, it can lead to loss of sharp, central vision and cause legal blindness without proper treatment. Below are resources to help you learn more about this disease. Start by watching this short film, made in partnership with BrightFocus Foundation, that gives an overview of the condition.  A partnership with The Clive Hamilton, M.D. Vision Foundation also made the pocket film available in Spanish.

Both films were supported by Genentech.
