The Alliance’s 22nd Annual Bipartisan Congressional Awards Dinner will be held on September 29, 2015, in Washington, D.C. We’ll be updating our website throughout the upcoming months, so please check back often for more info.
New Annual Report Now Available
We have released our Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2014. It gives a comprehensive overview of everything we’ve done in the past fiscal year to advance the cause of aging research, further research into Alzheimer’s and sarcopenia, and educate on chronic conditions of aging. Check it out here.
Med Sync Program Simplifies Prescription Refills
According to the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), one third of patients taking regular medications miss doses because they run out before refilling their prescription. A program called Align My Refills helps patients with their medication management. With this program, pharmacists synchronize chronic prescription refills so that they all come due on the same day of each month, eliminating the need to call in multiple prescription refills and giving patients a chance to meet with their pharmacist on a monthly basis. Founder Dan Perry Participates in Medicare Advantage Hill Briefing
On January 15, Founder Dan Perry participated in a Capitol Hill briefing hosted by the Coalition for Medicare Choices (CMC) on the value of Medicare Advantage. In his remarks, Perry credited Medicare Advantage with being a true innovation in American health care, “The Alliance for Aging Research believes further cuts to MA will do irreparable harm to a program that is helping many older Americans control their chronic health conditions and helping avoid unnecessary complications that risk their personal independence and well-being.”
