President Obama signed the 21st Century Cures Act into law on December 13, 2016. The Cures Act will hasten how drugs and medical devices are reviewed and authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Alliance recently released a statement on the Cures Act. Read it here.

The Trans-NIH GeroScience Interest Group (GSIG) launched its 2016-2017 GSIG seminar series last month. The first seminar, titled “From the Human Genome Project to Precision Medicine: A Journey to Advance Human Health," was led by Dr. Eric Green, the director of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI).
