UPDATE:  Our President and CEO Susan Peschin published this op-ed in The Hill about the conference. She is at the conference today. Follow her on Twitter.

This Monday, July 13, the 2015 White House Conference on Aging will bring together people and organizations from throughout the U.S. to both celebrate the contributions older adults make to our society and to discuss issues of importance to seniors. The daylong conference, running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will focus on four topic areas: healthy aging, long-term services and supports, elder justice, and retirement security. President Obama is expected to address attendees.

The Alliance is excited to be among the organizations to be in attendance at the conference. We are very invested in many of the topics of the conference and look forward to the positive dialogue they will create.

Now the vast majority of us won't be able to experience the event in person. However, there are a few ways you can engage in the conference.

  • Watch the event. You can watch the conference on the White House Live Event page.  You can also join a watch party. The Alliance is hosting its own watch party on Monday.
  • Follow on Twitter using #WHCOA. Also follow the the conference Twitter handle here. You can tweet questions to experts at the conference using #WHCOA. You can also follow us on Twitter as we'll be posting tweets on the conference.
  • Participate! Although the conference is three days away, you can still share a story or host a watch party. Go here to see all you can do.

We hope you will join us and millions of others on July 13 in this important once-in-a-decade event!
