If you take prescription medications, you may have some unused medications stowed away in a medicine or kitchen cabinet. In fact, an estimated 40 percent of medications go unused.

Unused medications can present dangers to everyone, especially kids. But it's also dangerous to improperly dispose of them.

If you have unused medications, you won't want to miss this opportunity to safely dispose of them! Tomorrow, on April 30, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration holds a National Prescription Take Back Day. This nationwide event "provides a safe, convenient, and environmentally responsible way of getting rid of prescription drugs."

Tomorrow all across the U.S., there will be collection stations where you can take your medications for free disposal. To find your nearest collection station, visit this site

Now, if you don't have a chance to participate in tomorrow's take back day, don't despair. Safe medication disposal does not have to be difficult. Watch our new film below to learn how you can safely dispose of your medications to keep you and your loved ones safe. We thank the DEA for sharing this film on its National Prescription Take Back Day page.
