Spread the Love This February

Cardiovascular disease, also called heart disease, is the #1 cause of death in America for both men and women. This includes heart attack, ischemic stroke, heart failure, irregular heartbeat, heart valve problems, and more.

That’s why this February, the Alliance for Aging Resource is encouraging older Americans and their loved ones to spread the love by making heart health a priority.

The Alliance continues to be the leading organization on geriatric cardiac issues, such as atrial fibrillation and valve disease. Our health information materials and advocacy campaigns – such as Celebrating A Year Without a Stroke and Living with Valve Disease – continue to educate and impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals.

When you spread the love this Valentine’s Day, you will be supporting the on-going geriatric cardiac work of the Alliance and helping to create a world where everyone can have a [healthy] heart.

Not sure where to start? Here are three things you can do to spread the love during American Heart Month:

  1. Make a donation to support the Alliance for Aging Research and our continuing work on geriatric cardiac issues.
  2. Join the Alliance on February 22, 2017, at the United States Capitol for the first-ever National Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day and spread the word about Heart Valve Disease Awareness with your social networks by using #ValveDiseaseDay and following @ValveDiseaseDay on Twitter.
  3. Learn about the risk factors and symptoms of heart conditions and share important health information with your loved ones.

Spread the love this month with the gift of heart health for you and your loved ones. Along with Valentine’s Day, February marks American Heart Month and National Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day.
