Alliance for Aging Research Provides Comments to Senator Alexander’s “Preparing for the Next Pandemic” White Paper

June 26, 2020   |   Alliance for Aging Research Team   |   Infectious Disease, COVID-19, Vaccination (Policy)

On June 26, 2020, the Alliance for Aging Research submitted comments on the white paper “Preparing for the Next Pandemic” at the request of Senator Lamar Alexander, Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. The Alliance appreciates the Chairman’s efforts to address policies that can contribute to increased resiliency during the current pandemic and in future public health emergencies (PHEs). Our comments – which encouraged Congress to take steps to ensure an effective distribution strategy for a future vaccine and support nursing facilities’ ability to respond to PHEs – reflect the unique needs of aging Americans and our desire that learnings from current experience affect positive change in future policy.
