Alliance for Aging Research founder and board member Dan Perry co-authored an article urging geriatricians and clinical trial researchers, behavioral and social science experts, and economists to advance geroscience-guided discoveries from the bench to clinical care and health policy. The article is titled “Moving geroscience from the bench to clinical care and health policy” and was published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society on June 19, 2021.
Geroscience is the study of genetic, molecular, and cellular mechanisms that make aging a major risk factor and driver of common chronic conditions and diseases. Such study seeks to identify strategies to modify these biological drivers of aging to slow their progression and prevent or delay the onset of multiple chronic diseases.
