The Alliance for Aging Research will convene a one-day meeting in Washington, D.C. on September 16, 2014 for leaders of organizations that represent the interests of older consumers and those who care for the aging population. The organizations will include those that have not previously engaged in policy efforts to promote prevention of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) and effective incentives for antibiotic development. Participants will be encouraged to discuss policy goals and determine a path forward. The meeting will include presentations from leading experts in the area of HAI prevention and public policy. A final discussion session on next steps will discuss partnering opportunities and strategy, including existing legislative and policy approaches.
