June 6 through 12 is World Heart Rhythm Week, which provides an opportunity for us to learn more about heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation.

So, for our Health Resource of the Week, we present you with our excellent series of educational materials about AFib.

First some background on AFib:

AFib is the most common type of arrhythmia, or abnormal heart rhythm. Every year, 75,000 Americans learn they have the condition, and it affects more than five million Americans overall.

While the abnormal heart rhythm itself isn’t generally serious, decreased blood flow and strain to the heart can lead to serious and deadly medical conditions. Having AFib doubles a person’s risk of death, and it greatly increases the chance of stroke.

We’ve created a dedicated atrial fibrillation health information page with free resources about the condition. You can visit the atrial fibrillation resource page, where you can download this informative brochure.
