Our Health Resource of the Week is inspired by an important piece of legislation that’s currently being considered in the U.S. Congress. It’s called the 21st Century Cures Act (or H.R. 6). It “brings U.S. health care innovation infrastructure into the 21st Century, delivering hope for patients and loved ones, and providing necessary resources to researchers to continue their efforts to uncover the next generation of cures and treatments.”

We offer our own take on the bill here.

In short, this bill will help advance medical research. And why does medical research matter? This takes us to this week’s HROTW. The video below presents the case for what can happen if we invest in healthy aging research as a nation. It will not just extend quality of life, but it will save potentially trillions in future costs. Through passage of H.R. 6, this will give experts in this field more opportunities to help them achieve their goals.
