March is National Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Awareness Month. DVT is a blood clot that develops in a deep vein in the body—usually within muscles. DVT most commonly forms in the veins of the leg. It can be deadly and is associated with conditions called venous thromboembolism (VTE) and pulmonary embolism (PE). They can affect as many as 600,000 Americans per year.

National DVT Awareness Month is a key opportunity to educate others about this critical condition. That’s why we want to introduce you to some of the resources we have available to help you learn about DVT. Please visit our info page to discover all of our resources. You can also check out the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis site for more on DVT.
