The Alliance for Aging Research Website and Webzine Receive Awards and High Praise for Quality Health Content
Washington, D.C. – Alliance for Aging Research website, www.agingresearch.org, and webzine, Living Longer and Loving It!, recently won three prestigious awards for online dedication to providing quality health information to aging Americans.
The not-for-profit, Washington, DC-based Alliance for Aging Research proudly received the World Wide Web Mature Media Merit Award in the Community Organizations category. The World Wide Web Mature Media Awards is a program that recognizes the best senior-related Web sites for consumers and professionals. The program is held with the goal of providing a “seal of quality” for electronic older adult information.
The Alliance also received two APEX Awards for Publication Excellence. These awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence. The Alliance’s quarterly webzine, Living Longer and Loving It!, received an Award of Excellence in the Newsletter – Online and Electronic category. The Alliance website, www.agingresearch.org, received an Award of Excellence in the Web and Intranet Sites category.
“We are proud to be recognized for our efforts in disseminating quality healthcare information to thousands of Americans,” said Daniel Perry, executive director for the Alliance for Aging Research. “Now more than ever, people need to have the knowledge necessary to manage their personal health in hopes of staying healthy and vigorous as they age.”
The Alliance’s free quarterly newsletter, Living Longer and Loving It!, contains editorial sections such as Science in the Spotlight, Get Mad Before You Get Old, and profiles older Americans in the Living Legend section. The Alliance website, www.agingresearch.org, provides the latest research on both healthy aging and age-related diseases. The section, Health Topics, contains helpful information on over 50 health conditions.
