Yesterday the Alliance had the privilege of participating in a Capitol Hill briefing hosted by the Coalition for Medicare Choices (CMC) on the value of Medicare Advantage. Founder Dan Perry joined a panel of other health experts who discussed the program.

In his remarks, Dan credited Medicare Advantage with being a true innovation in American health care. Citing various studies, he described how Medicare Advantage plans have resulted in better disease prevention, detection, and management as well as significant health care cost savings.

He also joined with his fellow panelists in calling for an end to funding cuts for the program.

“The Alliance for Aging Research believes further cuts to MA will do irreparable harm to a program that is helping many older Americans control their chronic health conditions and helping avoid unnecessary complications that risk their personal independence and well-being,” he noted.

Programs like Medicare Advantage promote the ideas we stand for at the Alliance: the expansion of healthy aging and innovation in the delivery of health care. Both of these are needed more than ever as our population continues to age.
