One of the Alliance’s most important missions is to raise awareness and advocate for research around conditions that impact aging Americans. Learn more about our health initiatives below.
Our Initiatives
Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day
The Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day campaign was started to increase recognition of the specific heart valve disease risks and symptoms, improve detection and treatment, and ultimately save lives. Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day takes place every February 22 during American Heart Month.
Celebrating a Year Without a Stroke
This campaign shares the real stories of people who have experienced and seen first-hand how serious strokes can be. These advocates all share the mission of educating patients and their loved ones about stroke risk and prevention, so that they can Celebrate a Year Without a Stroke.
Accelerate Cures/Treatments for All Dementia
Accelerate Cures/Treatments for All Dementias (ACT-AD) is a coalition of more than 50 national non-profit health professional, patient, business, health provider and consumer organizations seeking to accelerate development of potential cures and treatments for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and all dementias.
