The Trans-NIH GeroScience Interest Group (GSIG) hosted its spring seminar on Wednesday, June 6, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., on the NIH Campus (Natcher Conference Center, Balcony B). The seminar, titled “Understanding Molecular Signatures of Aging,” featured Dr. GR Scott Budinger. Dr. Budinger is the Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and is the Ernest S. Bazley Professor of Airway Diseases and a Professor of Medicine (Pulmonary and Critical Care) and of Cell and Molecular Biology.

Budinger’s laboratory focuses on understanding how aging biology intersects with the age-related risk of acute and chronic lung diseases. His work is key to learning more about diseases in pulmonary and critical care medicine, and is important to geroscience research because the findings have a great impact on the aging of other organ systems in the body.

You can watch a recap of the seminar here.
