HROTW: Preventing Stroke from Atrial Fibrillation

January 8, 2016   |   Alliance for Aging Research Team   |   Atrial Fibrillation, Cardiovascular Disease, Stroke

For our Health Resource of the Week, we share a video: Preventing Stroke from Atrial Fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation (AFib) affects the way blood flows through the heart and makes it vulnerable for forming clots, which can travel to the brain and cause a stroke. The risk of stroke in a person with AFib is 500 percent higher than in someone without the disease, This video gives you a summary on how a stroke is caused by AFib and the things you should be on the look out for. Also, get all of our resources on stroke risk and AFib.
