Wear a Mask
Published July 28, 2020
The national drive to get the COVID-19 crisis under control is largely dependent on everyone wearing masks. Masks protect those who are most vulnerable and stop the spread of the disease. Unfortunately, the mask issue has been politicized and there is ongoing resistance to the idea of wearing them.
However, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield recently said the United States could get the spread of the novel coronavirus “under control” within a matter of weeks if everyone wore face coverings. He said that masks are among the most effective measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
A University of Washington study shows that 40,000 Americans could be saved if everyone would wear a mask. We can all play a part in preventing the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a face mask in public. The more people that wear face masks, the more lives we will save, and the sooner we can return to normal. Learn more at agingresearch.org/mask.
