On January 24, the Alliance’s Aging in Motion (AIM) Coalition hosted a webinar about the ICD-10 code for sarcopenia, titled “An ICD-10 Code for Sarcopenia: Implications for Diagnosis and Clinical Practice.”
In 2016, AIM’s proposal to establish an ICD-10-CM code was accepted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The webinar provided more insight into the process – covering the process for requesting the code, the importance of ICD-10 data for research, and the impact of a sarcopenia code in clinical settings.
Expert presenters included:
Douglas P. Kiel, M.D., M.P.H., Director, Musculoskeletal Research Center and Senior Scientist, Institute for Aging Research
