Letter to HHS Secretary Tom Price on Maintaining and Enforcing Important Patient Protections and Access to Prescription Drugs
Published February 10, 2017
The Alliance joined with 200 other organizations to call on Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price in his review of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act “to maintain the many important protections patients have gained that ensure they can access the care and treatment their providers prescribe.”
The letter, which was authored by the I Am Essential coalition, in particular urged Price “to continue enforcing and not repeal the patient protections” that are outlined in the letter as he implements “the President’s January 20th Executive Order, ‘Minimizing the Economic Burden of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Pending Repeal.’”
