The Alliance for Aging Research held its 16th Annual Bipartisan Congressional Awards Dinner on Tuesday September 15, 2009 in Washington, D.C. The event will raised funds and awareness for the Alliance, a non-profit organization that advances scientific and medical discoveries to maximize healthy aging, independence and quality of life for older Americans.

The 2009 Connie Mack Award for Advancing Healthy Aging Through Research was presented to Congressman Joe Barton (R-TX) and the 2009 Claude Pepper Award for Advancing Healthy Aging Through Research was presented to Senator Herb Kohl (D-WI).
