Please join us on March 11 for two special events to learn about the epidemic of Alzheimer’s, its consequences and the promise of research.

Today 24 million people have Alzheimer’s worldwide. This will quadruple to 100 million by 2050. The greatest risk factor for Alzheimer’s is age, and currently, there are no therapies to prevent or cure this fatal disease.

To find out more about this 21st century epidemic, join the Alliance for Aging Research for a briefing:

  • Daniel Perry, Executive Director, Alliance for Aging Research
  • David Shenk, Author of The Forgetting and lecturer on Alzheimer’s
  • John Q. Trojanowski, MD, PhD Director, Alzheimer’s Disease Core Center; Professor, Dept. of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine

A reception will be held following the briefing. During the reception, we will screen four short ‘pocket’ films–tools to build broad awareness about the disease and its consequences. The films are written and directed by David Shenk and narrated by David Hyde Pierce.

The films were made possible by a grant from MetLife Foundation.
