The Alliance for Aging Research is convening a one-day meeting in Washington, D.C. on behalf of the AFib Optimal Treatment Task Force for key stakeholders from government, academia, provider, stroke and heart, caregiver and patient advocacy organizations. Through the symposium, we seek to: 1) establish a consistent voice about the scope of the problem of stroke in the aging AFib population; 2) identify challenges facing this population and those that care for them; and 3) explore potential policy solutions that would advance research and care. Working sessions will explore key questions that focus on advancing patient and provider awareness, communication and advocacy in this space.
