Alliance for Aging Research Submits Comment to CDC About Pneumonia Vaccines

WASHINGTON, June 24, 2021 – On June 24, 2021, the Alliance for Aging Research (“Alliance) submitted written comment to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) outlining its recommendations for approaching pneumococcal vaccines. The Alliance’s recommendations include:

  • ACIP Should Prioritize Recruitment of Members with Geriatric Expertise
  • CDC/ACIP Should Leverage the Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care (LTC) Program for All Older Adult Vaccines
  • HHS/CDC Should Remove Economic Considerations and Analyses from the ACIP Charter
