Alliance to ACIP: Seven Recommendations for June 25-26 Meeting

Today, the Alliance for Aging Research submitted comments to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) for their June 25-26 meeting.

Alliance Director of Health Programs Katrin Werner-Perez, and Alliance President & CEO Sue Peschin, MHS, co-signed a public comment to ACIP recommending the following:

  1. Restore ACIP votes on COVID-19 Vaccine Recommendations
  2. Finalize ACIP’s April vote to lower the risk-based recommendation for RSV vaccines to adults ages 50 to 59
  3. Remove the ACIP vote on proposed recommendations regarding the Thimerosal-containing Influenza vaccine
  4. Reinstate the ACIP vote on the Influenza vaccine for this year’s strain
  5. Restore votes on the Vaccines for Children (VFC) vaccines
  6. Provide a Measles outbreak and vaccination update and exercise continued vigilance
  7. Maintain ACIP’s scientific integrity and independence
