Long-time health and research advocate with background in government affairs will lend expertise
The Alliance for Aging Research announces a new member appointed to the organization’s Board of Directors: Kim Love. She was formally approved for the position during a special Virtual Board Meeting in early December.

Kim Love serves as Senior Director of Government Affairs and Strategic Alliances at Amgen. In her dual role, she serves as a lobbyist and leads the Alliance Development team that engages external stakeholders on Amgen’s policy priorities. Love has more than 30 years of policy, advocacy, campaign, and policy experience. She served as staff on Capitol Hill for 12 years, including serving as Senator Debbie Stabenow’s (D-MI) Legislative Director during the debate and passage of the Affordable Care Act and worked under Chairman John Dingell of the Energy & Commerce Committee. She has previously managed an independent consulting firm and convened key coalitions engaged in medical research policy.
Love has 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and previously worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) and the national trade organization PhRMA. She graduated from the University of Michigan with honors and earned her Master of Public Policy degree from Georgetown University.
“I am honored to return to the board of the Alliance for Aging Research,” said Love. “My collaboration with the Alliance goes back over 20 years when I partnered with them to manage the Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research (CAMR) and fought for federal funding for stem cell research. I am ready to roll up my sleeves and continue our work together to advance research policy that benefits our nation, our families, and especially our elders.”
“Kim’s strategic insight and deep commitment to advocacy for healthy aging is an invaluable asset to our Board,” said Michele Markus, Board Chair and Head of Global Accounts, Worldwide Enterprise Lead for Omnicom Group. “Her experience is complimentary to the diverse skillsets and backgrounds of our Board and will help further our mission to improve health outcomes for all.”
“The Alliance is thrilled and grateful that Kim is returning to this role on our Board,” said Alliance President and CEO Sue Peschin, MHS. “She is a fantastic addition to this group of exceptional individuals who are true changemakers for older adults. I look forward to working with her, learning from her, and utilizing her extensive policy and advocacy expertise.”
