Today we recognize World Sight Day to focus on important issues such as blindness and vision impairment. More than 38 million Americans ages 40 and older are blind, visually impaired, or have an age-related eye disease, and adult vision loss costs our economy more than $51 billion a year. While these statistics shouldn’t be surprising—after all, lots of us wear glasses and contacts—it’s a reminder that we should be diligent to schedule regular vision exams to make sure our eyes are in optimal working order.
Our HROTW stays with the vision theme as we offer you The Silver Book®: Vision Loss, Volume II. This is a comprehensive online almanac of data on eye diseases such as macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma. It also gives insights into the exciting changes and discoveries in vision research and treatment. Click on the image below to download it.
