The Alliance for Aging Research and Operation Warp Speed (OWS) will be hosting a webinar discussion on Tuesday, November 10 at 1:00 p.m. ET about a new “one-stop shopping” online portal that will lay out in plain language the three medical pathways currently available through OWS to the public in order to accelerate enrollment across all COVID-19 clinical trials and plasma donations. Speakers Include:
- Anthony Fauci, M.D., Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who will speak on current areas of research focus in COVID-19 prevention and treatment, and why older adult participation is so important.
- Janet Woodcock, M.D., Director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research at the Food and Drug Administration, currently on detail serving as Therapeutic Lead for Operation Warp Speed, who will provide an overview of the new portal and the different focus areas.
- Lance Robertson, Administrator of Administration for Community Living and Assistant Secretary for Aging, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, who will share insights from the aging services network about some of the challenges to increasing the numbers of older adults who participate in clinical trials.
- Lindsay Clarke, J.D., Vice President of Health Education and Advocacy, Alliance for Aging Research, who will speak about effective messaging and educational tools for explaining clinical trials and encouraging participation.
