New Supplemental Issue of Journal of Gerontology Features NIA Workshop Convening

In March, 2022, the National Institute on Aging at the National Institutes of Health hosted a workshop Development of Function Promoting Therapies: Public Health Need, Molecular Targets, and Drug Development. The workshop findings were published in November 2022 in the Journal of Gerontology: Biological & Medical Sciences and this June, an entire supplemental issue of the journal was dedicated to the workshop.
Speakers at the March workshop included Rosaly Correa-de-Araujo of NIA, Anne Newman of University of Pittsburgh, Shalender Bhasin of Howard University, and other leading experts in sarcopenia. The workshop dug into a number of important topics including:

- Pharmacologic Interventions to Prevent and Treat Age-Related Functional Limitations
- Drugs Targeting Mechanisms of Aging
- Physical Exercise Interventions
- Nutritional Interventions
