Project PAUSE Shakes the Stigma of Neuropsychiatric Symptoms

Neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) of Alzheimer's can have a devastating impact on patients, their loved ones, and caregivers. Often the earliest sign of Alzheimer’s Disease, NPS are frequently overlooked and under-treated. That’s why we, at the Alliance for Aging Research, along with a growing community of advocates are committed to combatting the stigma surrounding NPS.

Learn more about our efforts to amplify the lived experiences of those affected by NPS. Project PAUSE is engaged in a public awareness campaign that includes op-eds like this one in the Chicago Daily Herald by patient advocates Terrie Montgomery and Shon Lowe.

Alliance, Heart Valve Voice US Applaud
FDA Approval of TriClip

This month, the FDA announced the approval of TriClip, the second minimally invasive transcatheter device to repair leaky tricuspid heart valves, known as tricuspid valve regurgitation. The Alliance, along with Heart Valve Voice US applaud the FDA for considering the patient perspective in determining approval for new heart valve technologies.

Alliance Gathers PHAI Members, Hosts Spring Board of Directors Meeting

Earlier this month, Alliance staff and the Board of Directors gathered in Washington, DC with members of the Partnership in Healthy Aging Innovation (PHAI) to network and reconnect. Members include companies that provide unrestricted support to advance activities related to the Alliance’s overall mission and vision.

The following day, we hosted our Spring Board of Directors meeting. At the meeting, two new Board members were sworn in: Janet McUlsky, President of McUlsky Health Force; and Todd Tuten, President of NN Consulting, LLC.
 


Alliance Board Members and staff had a productive Spring Board meeting on April 17.
