For many of us, our Mom stands out as the most important person in our lives. She was there during our first moments and saw us through our greatest triumphs and toughest setbacks.

And while we appreciate Mom every day of the year, it is on Mother's Day when we most take time to show her how much we appreciate her—whether it's a phone call, a family dinner or a simple card.

For all of us at the Alliance, we are very thankful for our Moms.

Samantha Hunter (who is pictured as an infant with her mom at right), director of development, had this to say about her Mom, "I appreciate my Mom because she was always there for me, no matter what. From caring for me as a child to helping me stumble my way through motherhood now that I have a child of my own, she is my rock and everlasting support."

At the Alliance, we are celebrating Mother's Day in two ways.

The first is through a special Mother's Day Tribute campaign. If you would like to honor your Mom, why not make a donation in her honor to the Alliance? Your Mother’s Day Tribute will support the mission of the Alliance and ensure that advances in research will continue to be made to help all of our loved ones stay healthier, longer. The research we support will impact both the current and future generation of moms. Go here to make a donation.

We also invite you to join Samantha by sharing what you appreciate most about your Mom. If you follow us on Twitter, post a message using the hashtag #appreciatemom. If you aren't on Twitter, send us an email or post on Facebook.

Happy Mother's Day to moms everywhere.
