Our #SafeMedsChat Is Tomorrow!

March 22, 2016   |   Alliance for Aging Research Team   |   Prevention, Medication Safety
Invitation for medication safety Twitter chat.

Tomorrow from 1-2 p.m. ET, we hold our Twitter chat on Medication Safety 101: Usage, Storage, and Disposal. We are very excited about the opportunity to share information about this vital topic during National Poison Prevention Week.

And we want you to join us! If you are new to the world of Twitter chats (or even if you are a seasoned veteran), we would like to give you some important details so you can know the who, what, and when about tomorrow’s chat.

First off, if you’ve never done a Twitter chat before, check out this handy guide to participating in a Twitter chat.

The chat will be hosted at this handle: @aging_research. We are conducting it in partnership with the Acetaminophen Awareness Coalition, the American Association of Poison Control Centers, the CHPA Educational Foundation, and the National Council on Patient Information and Education.

We will discuss the follow topics: how and when to take (and not take) medications, safely storing medications, how to dispose of unwanted medications, and more. To follow the chat, be sure to use the hashtag #SafeMedsChat. You can go here to follow the hashtag in real time.

If you plan to participate, we’ll be posting questions throughout the hour. Please share statistics, facts, videos, graphics, photos, or any resources you have available and that you can highlight in 140 characters! Remember to include #SafeMedsChat in your responses. This will help all of us stay on the same page throughout the chat.

For more in-depth information, please go to the chat home page.

We hope to see you tomorrow!
