A new report outlines a reflection of the Federal response to vaccination during the COVID-19 pandemic. The 35-page document, “A Call to Action: Expand & Ensure Access to All Vaccines for Long-Term Care Residents,” is a summary of key findings resulting from a roundtable symposium held on January 27.
Convened by the Alliance for Aging Research and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP), the roundtable gathered more than 45 individuals representing a variety of stakeholders to offer a significant opportunity to share lessons learned and identify policies and programs needed to sustain and expand access to vaccines at long-term facilities.

June 21 was “The Longest Day,” the day with the most light. Advocates from around the world worked toward better awareness and care for those with Alzheimer’s. In addition to sharing key messages, the Alliance led a call to action to urge Congress to tell CMS to #StopRationingCare.
Alliance Urges FDA Advisory Committee to Rely on Expertise
Alliance President & CEO Sue Peschin delivered comments to the FDA’s Peripheral and Central Nervous System Drugs Advisory Committee on June 9, asking them to lean on the meaningful existence of FDA approval. “To the Advisory Committee, please consider how your dialogue today will help or harm the public’s trust in science and in the FDA. Please serve as true advisors to the FDA’s already impartial, rigorous, and expert review.”
