Over 80 national organizations representing patients and people with disabilities signed a letter to lawmakers urging them to reject policies that discriminate against people with disabilities and chronic conditions, older adults, and reinforce health inequities. The letter calls on policymakers to condemn policies that would rely on the Quality-Adjusted Life Year (QALY) or similar metrics that fail to account for those who are not average, and work to ensure the most vulnerable populations among us, including people with disabilities, will not be denied coverage or access to high quality health care based on discriminatory measurements of a treatment’s value.

The Alliance for Aging Research was pleased to sign this letter. Click here to read it. To read the official press release, please visit CancerCare‘s announcement here.
